Hull Foundation
The Cordell Hull Foundation for International
Education is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to continuing the work of Cordell Hull,
awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945 as "Father of the United Nations."
Secretary Hull served for twelve years under Franklin Roosevelt, the longest-serving
Secretary of State in U.S. history. Embracing his goals of international
peace, the Cordell Hull Foundation (CHF) has offered programs to improve
relations between the United States and other countries, primarily through
educational and cultural exchange, since 1951.

the Foundation is centrally located two blocks from Grand Central Station. Behind the NYC Public Library lies the 4-block square Bryant
Park.

CHF J-1 VISA
Teacher Exchange Program
Executive Director Marianne Mason. The J-1 visa
Teacher
Exchange Program was
established by the Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961,
as amended. Students benefit
through learning about the customs and mores of other nationalities, as well
as literature and spoken language skills. Primary languages
represented are French, Spanish, Greek, German, and Mandarin.
The
J-1 Exchange Visitor Program allows elementary and
secondary-school teachers to teach under CHF J-1 visa sponsorship in
the U.S. from 1-3 years, renewable annually. CHF works directly with
schools rather than
through attorneys
or other third-party intermediaries. The Foundation is not an employment
agency and does not look for positions in which to place individual foreign
teachers nor do we allow foreign teachers to pay for cost of sponsorship
in our Exchange Visitor Teacher program. No fees are
charged for teacher
referrals from our database.

The Cordell Hull Foundation specializes
in language-immersion curricula - French, Greek,
Spanish,
German, and Mandarin - where students are taught regular subjects in the
target language. We also sponsor
teachers of foreign languages, ESL and
other specialized subjects.
Currently, CHF accepts applications from
schools and school districts. We do not respond to inquiries
from recruiters or attorneys. Teachers applying for an existing program must first read the

FAQ
link on our website and then complete our Teacher
application form which can be accessed in English or Spanish on the
J-1 Visa Exchange Teacher page. The About Us/ Cordell
Hull Biography section will assist in answering essay questions about

Morrison Summer Study Program
The Foundation's
intensive
Summer Studies Program in Antigua, Guatemala, aids businesspeople and teachers
to rapidly become
fluent in Spanish while enjoying an idyllic setting in this
quaint village in Central America. CHF has documented success for learners who stay immersed in Spanish for a sustained period
without reverting to English or the learner's native language.
